My current H1 expires on Sept 30. My employer is planning to apply for an extension in the first week of April. Can they file my LCA in advance so that they can have an approved LCA by the first week of April? Or, do they have to wait till Apr 1st (6 months before current H1 expiration) to file for the LCA ? I was not able to find information about this specific scenario.

We have been applying for advance parole document at NSC for the last few years.
This time we sent our application to NSC on 01/28/2010.
After about 15 days, we received a receipt notice letter from Vermont service center.
The I-131 application instructions specify that I-140 based applications should be sent to either Nebraska or Texas service centers.
I am wondering if USCIS started processing I-131 application in VSC.
Or our application is mistakenly misclassified and sent to VSC.
Any comments?

Hello all:
My friend currently is in his home country. He worked with H1-b before, and left US because of being laid off (could not found a new job in time). His question is if he can apply for B2 and go to the US first, then stay in US looking for a job. After getting an offer, transfer his previous H1-b to a new company. Can he do like that? Thanks!

Some sections that are not in dispute, such as the provisions on day laborers, will take effect on the scheduled date. Please help reactivate this group. We have 27 members on our group but it's hard to get 1 reply. We have successfully met two lawmakers recently and more such contacts are urgently needed. I am using Advance parole in december to visit India. I have applied my canada PR in 2008, but I don't have stamp of PR in my passport.
