Applied for 140 transfer in June '07. Its been 21 months and no news on my 140 transfer.
- Any reason for concern?

An I-140 petition filed for you by your current employer will have no impact on the pending I-140 appeal filed by your future employer.

A bill has been referred to the committee and sponsored by Sen. Sessions.
Sen. Sessions is very anti-amnesty, and looks like he is pushing a bill for the legal immigrants-in-waiting. We do not yet know the contents of the bill, but hopefully by later this week, the text of the bill would be available in the library of congress.
I think given the current political environment we can get the senators and house representatives to vote in its favor.
Lets see what the actual contents of the bill are tomorrow/day-after.

Just i have applied for AP through efile. From here what's the procedure? Do i need to send the support documentation? if so, what are all the documents i need to send? please through some light on this. also will i get another bio metrics appointment?
with addition to above my questions, do i need to get stamped to maintain my H1 status? or will it be okay if enter thro' AP and working for my same employer to maintain my H1 status?

AFAIK if company A did not revoked H1B I guess you can join Company A, please also check with any attorney.

Hi,
We filed a dependent I-485 for my wife while she is on a F1 status. She has a EAD card (but my I-140 is pending). My understanding is that once she finishes school, she will not be able to get an OPT. Does it mean that she can accept employment using the EAD even though the I-140 is not approved? In case my I-140 is denied, will she lose her status and would have to leave the country?

The Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the Immigration Subcommittee Chairman, told the AP yesterday that he plans on introducing a comprehensive immigration reform bill before Labor Day and then hopes to have a debate on the bill in the fall. Schumer hinted that advocates for highly skilled immigrants are likely to be happier with the bill than those pushing for guest worker reforms for lesser skilled workers and that business and the unions have yet to reach a compromise. @Kirupa: Not live tiles, but selection tiles (thumbnails) -- square boxes with text and maybe an image . They are use in panoramic applications instead of a list box.
You should do a video tutorial on creating the different elements of a panoramic app, i.e., the listbox, selection tiles (thumbnails), and a listbox with text+image(on the left). I think the xbox hub is a great example.

Hi,
I didnot receive my EAD yet, the online status says that Approval notice was mailed on Oct. 1st.
I would like to know if anyone is facing the same issue.
Can anyone let me know how should i proceed in this regard?

I am moving 60 miles from where I live now. I am planning to do following two things.
1. File a Form AR-11
2. Call this number (800) 375-5283 for pending I-485 and EAD renewal applications for self and spouse
Do I need to update the address on approved AP/I-140/EAD or any other approved applications as well.
Am I missing something :confused:

From the Houston Chronicle: More Texas voters think unauthorized immigrants should be allowed to stay in the United States � through either a path to citizenship or work visas � than favor deporting them, according to a new Houston Chronicle/San Antonio Express-News poll. I'm in Spain this week so can't give the full treatment, but thanks to readers who sent this happy news. The US has won the Nobel Prize in medicine for work done by these two scientists as well as Carol Greider. Blackburn is Australian-born and Szostak is British-born. They received their award for genetic research that is described here.

Hi: Need some inputs from the excperts in this group on using the priority dates from a different I140 filing.
Have the following 2 cases filed for the same person.
PD - Nov 2004 - EB3 - Labor Approved - I140 Filed
PD - Oct/Nov 2005 - EB2 - Labor Approved - I140 Approved
If we file I485 based on the I140 approved for EB2 case [which has a later PD], can we still send an update to USCIS later regarding Nov 2005 PD and use that PD once the I140 from the EB3 filing is approved? What's the best way to use the highest EB category and oldest PD in this case?

Does any one knows why EB2 India is not approving in comparison to 2006.
As my understanding that USCIS should process application in FIFO and PD.
My PD is Feb 2005 and when I talked to CS he told me that everything is cleared and my case should be approved .
He told me to call after 68 days ( don't know why) if my case is not approved till then.I am seeing peoples with 2006 PD are getting there GC .

i am waiting for my priority date to become current to file for I-485. But it looks it'll take forever, as evident from May 09 visa bulletin, in which the visa dates are unavailable for EB3 India category. Do you know why dates are retrogressing or stagnant in bulletins after bulletins.
I have another question. My birth certificate is in an Indian language which was issued from the panchayat office where I was born. I want to know if that can be translated to English right here in US for I-485 application. Can somebody else who is not related to me write the translation in English and then get it notarized? If this is the case, then I don't have to go to India or get it done from there from the panchayat office, because this may take a long time. If anyone had tackled issues such as this, please share.

My PERM case has been pending for almost 15 months (under audit for 12 months). I asked my attorney about this enquiry thing that you can file to DOL after pending for 15 months (according to this thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21183&page=2)). Her response is that she has been sending requests about case status to the DOL on a regular basis.
Can anyone who's familiar with the matter tell me what's this enquiry is about? Is it just a regular status check or a more formal and serious matter that DOL has to assign a freaking living human to look at your case to reply? :mad:
